Colton's October Trip to TN

Colton came to TN to stay for a few days in October. As usual, we had so much fun with him! Timothy and I got to carve our first pumpkin with him. Unfortunately for me, Timothy and Colton don't like the insides of the pumpkin so it was up to me to clean it out (like father, like son). Colton wanted his pumpkin to have diamond and square eyes, a triangle nose, and five teeth...so that is just what he got. Uncle Tony had given us a rocking horse for Colton and he loved it. He called him Trigger and wanted to ride him all the time. Timothy also gave Colton a haircut and he was so great for it. He smiled the whole time!
We also went to Mt. Pleasant for all the family to visit with him there. He got to see him favorite animals, Jack and Bella, Steve and Judy's donkeys. He was such a good boy playing with Emerson, he would hold him so carefully and give him a kiss on the head. He was all into Steve (Buddy)  this trip and kept calling himself Buddy's guy. It was precious he always had to know where Steve was and each morning he made muffins with Steve for breakfast and they would call themselves the muffin men.
Colton also got to hang out with Sophie and they had a blast jumping and playing in the leaves at mom and dads. Colton liked to run and tackle Sophie into the leaves, Sophie wasn't to sure about it but she was a good sport.
On the last day of his trip we took him to Steve's work and let him see all the big trucks and ride around in one. He absolutely loved this!!! He laughed and smiled the whole time. He also enjoyed blowing the big horn and probably waking up most people in town.
It is so much fun to have him here with us and get a little taste of what an amazing little boy he is. Each time we just fall in love with him even more! This year we get to have him for Thanksgiving and we can't wait to see what he has up his sleeve then. He will definitely be something we are very thankful for this Thanksgiving!

Colton's September Trip

Colton got to come to Tennessee a couple weeks ago. I flew up and got him and brought him back, it was a day full of flying but he did wonderful! He must get his love for flying from his Daddy. On Saturday we went to visit Buddy and JuJu in Mt. Pleasant. He loves Buddy and JuJu's house because they have donkeys and tractors (what more could a boy want). This was Colton's first chance to meet his new cousin, Emerson. Colton loved him! He checked on Emerson with his Dr. kit, cleaned him up with his toy vacuum, but his favorite thing to do was tell Emerson what a dinosaur says and Roar in his face haha. To this Emerson would poke out his lip and almost start to cry. We all got a laugh out of it though.
Colton really enjoyed riding his tractor that we gave him for his birthday. He has figured out how to push the gas which is a lot of help but he hasn't mastered steering just yet. He also really like riding Buddy's lawnmower. We had a great time with him. It is so neat to see how he has grown between each visit. He has such a wide vocabulary and is full of personality. He is definitely two because he really enjoys getting his way and telling you what he wants haha.
Colton also got to hang out with his other cousins, Sophie and Celia, for a little bit. It is so much fun to watch Colton (2) and Sophie (4) interact. They have the biggest conversations and he just chases after her wherever she goes.
After the weekend I flew Colton back to WI. On the flight he entertained me by telling me everything he had done over the weekend and about "going up high in the airplane with LaLa." We had a great time with him and can't wait for him to come back down in October and see what his newest tricks are then. Until then we'll feel blessed for the time we have with him and look forward to skyping with him!

Give a little love to the Blog

So it has been a while (ok a long while) since I have blogged so I thought I better catch up. Since the last time I blogged a lot has happened. Timothy and I now have a new niece and a new nephew. Our niece Celia was born on March 31 and she is doing great, already getting teeth and growing quickly (oh and precious), Sophie is a great big sister! Our nephew, Emerson was born on July 6. He is so cute and doing great. He surprised us by coming about 3 weeks early but we were all so happy to meet him.

I graduated in May from MTSU with my degree in Child Development and Family Studies with a minor is psychology. I now work as an ABA provider. I do behavioral therapy for children with autism and other development delays. I really enjoy it and get a lot out of my work. I also have begun doing some photography on the side. I have always loved pictures and taking pictures so now that I have a good camera (thanks MeMaw for the graduation gift)I am able to do more with my photos. I am very affordable and really enjoy it. If you want to look at some of my pictures check out "Laura Wade Photography" on Facebook. Timothy also had a little change in his job. He was working in the charter office for Smyrna airport but he now is getting a taste of his dream job. He is flying as a first officer for Corporate Flight Management. So he gets to fly private planes to different destinations. He is really enjoying it and I am so proud of him for getting to follow his dreams.
Colton has grown so much since my last post. He is now 2 1/2 and full of energy. He is talking nonstop (some things you understand and some not). Timothy and I got a chance to go to WI the end of July and have him for a few days. This was our first time to drive to WI (9 hours) and it actually wasn't so bad. We also got to visit with our friends Natasha and Bob who just had a baby girl, Heidi, in June. Colton was so much fun. We love that he is now able to say Daddy and LaLa. We got to take him to his swimming lessons and play at the park and have lots of fun with the little guy. We can't wait for our next visit. For now we try to skype with him as often as possible. It is such a blessing that technology allows us to talk to him and see him more often.

Timothy and I also celebrated our one year anniversary on May 30. We went to Gatlinburg to celebrate and had a wonderful time. I can't believe it has already been a year. We have greatly enjoyed our newlywed stage and look forward to our future. I have to say there is nothing like waking up every day to your best friend. We have such a good time together! I truly am a very lucky girl.

Colton's First 2010 Visit

Colton was able to come to TN to visit last week. I took off from work and flew to WI to pick him up on Wednesday 2/3. This was my first flight all alone and so I was a little nervous. Everything went perfectly smooth. After I picked up Colton and we got back on the plane to head to TN he laid down in my lap and fell right to sleep. He slept the entire flight to TN. We spent the night at our house that night and Grandmomma (Joyce) and Grandaddy (Wayne) came up to visit and pick up our dog, Phoebe to stay with them during Colton's stay. Emily, Timothy's sister also came over to visit. Colton makes himself right at home when he comes to visit. He was busy playing and kicking a ball which was one of his many tricks. On Thursday Colton and I went to Timothy's work to visit him for a while and Colton got to walk around one of the airplane hangers. He really enjoyed this part and I know Timothy enjoyed getting to show him the airplanes. Thursday evening JuJu (Judy) and Buddy (steve) came up for a visit. Friday was my sister, Anna's birthday so Colton and I went with Grandmomma and Grandaddy to have lunch with Anna. It was a total surprise to Anna and we really had a great time. Colton was wonderful at the restaurant and afterwards we went to get ice cream and he really enjoyed that and being able to put candy on his ice cream. Friday evening we went to Mt. Pleasant for the weekend and Colton got to socialize with everyone there. He really liked to look outside at JuJu and Buddy's donkeys and the cows next door. Colton gets to do pretty much whatever he wants when he is in TN so he enjoyed plenty of Valentine's day candy and a lot of watching an Elmo video over and over. He still has music in his blood and has to dance anytime music comes on. Sunday I flew Colton back to WI. It was an anxious trip because I only had about 35 min in between my flights so I had to go drop him off and get back through security for my next flight. Luckily the weather was good and there were no delays so I made it safely back to TN on Sunday night. We had a wonderful time with Colton. He is developing such a personality and he loves his Daddy so much (and his LaLa too). He likes to always know where his Daddy is and when nap or bedtime comes around he still loves to crawl in a lap with his blankie to go to sleep. We can't wait for his next visit so we can love on him more!

2010- New Year New Goals

What's been going on:
Ok so it has been a very long time since I blogged last so I thought since it is a new year what better time to start back up! Since the last post Timothy and I got married and went on our wonderful honeymoon! We have had a great time getting to know what married life entails and figuring out the ins and outs. We were very excited to spend our first Christmas together and have Colton get to spend it with us also. We all had a great time and 2009 overall was a wonderful year with good changes.
*2010*
Now that a lot of major changes have been made in 2009 we are excited to see what 2010 has in store for us. Timothy and I were discussing what we want to do in 2010 so we made some goals! Hopefully we will get to achieve all of these but only time will tell! I will keep you updated!
Goals:
1. Spend a week without the computer!
I feel like a lot of family time and bonding time is taken up by playing of facebook or searching the net and I would like to not feel so confined to the computer. It would be so nice to come home from work eat dinner with my husband and then spend time together or sit back and enjoy a good book or board game...so we shall see.
2. Go to a wine tasting.
We have heard great things about Arrington Vineyards and how much fun an afternoon there can be. We have always said we want to go and take a picnic and listen to the music but life always gets in the way but not this year!!
3. Take a cruise!
Timothy and I love love love to travel and especially love tropical places. When we got married we said we want to take a trip each year for our anniversary if possible. Since we are still newlyweds and not the richest in the world we thought a cruise would be the cheapest and most fun way to go on a vacation that we enjoy.
4. Be more green:
Everyone else is into this "green" phase so we thought we may check it out a little and see what its all about. We aren't starting to hug trees or anything but just making a few changes could help. (not that hugging tree people are a bad thing :))
5. Learn something new!
This should be very easy to accomplish. It is very important to continue learning no matter how young or old you are!
6. Be more active!
Ok Ok I know that this is every one's goal at the beginning of a new year so hey why not add it to ours too. I feel so much better about myself when I am more active and if this crazy cold weather will ever go away maybe Timothy and I could work on starting this goal!
7. Finish Scrapbooks
So this is more my goal then Timothy's but I love to scrapbook and see the finished product but since sometimes life catches up with me I forget to scrapbook and get really far behind. I am currently finishing up our wedding scrapbook and continuing to keep up with Colton's scrapbook as we get to see him more. So I hope to stay as close to up to date as possible and that way I will have memories to last a lifetime!

Okay, seven is the perfect number so why not stop with that as our goals for 2010. Can't wait to see what we accomplish and what all 2010 has in store for us. Hope you have a blessed year!!

Engagement Party

On February 21st Timothy and I had our engagement party. Sissy, Judy, and Timothy's sister Emily all helped put it together. We had a great time getting together with both of our families.

We had BBQ and then cake for dessert. After everyone was full we played the Newlywed game and did a crossword puzzle with words that had to do with Timothy and me.

Everyone there signed an apron for me to commemorate the evening. All in all I think our families mesh very well and this is the beginning of a beautiful future.

Planning, Planning, Planning

The wedding planning is in full swing now. I spent the majority of my winter break making decisions for the wedding. We are getting very excited and ready to not have to drive back and forth between our houses. Melanie Tyler is our wedding coordinator and she is very helpful. On Friday we went and registered at Ye Peddler and Target and we plan to also register at Walmart but we were worn out that day. Also last week I went and ordered my wedding dress. I am very excited!! It is coming from Australia so it will not be here until the end of April :S but that is OK. We finally have a reception place. I was becoming worried that we wouldn't find one. The reception will be at the baptist church gym next door which will be very convenient since it is so close. My two sisters and I are planning to go pick out bridesmaids dresses next week. My mom, Sophie and I went to the Bridal show on Saturday which was a lot of fun and I found many great ideas. I want the wedding to be very personal and have a lot of pictures so Sunday, Judy, Sissy, Steve, Timothy and I went to take pictures. They turned out beautifully. Overall planning is going wonderfully. I think things are going to speed up from now on which is great because I can't wait to be Mrs. Wade.
